About the job:
This leadership position reports to the CFO for the Asia region and is responsible for driving the financial results of all the projects in execution. This position will partner with the VP of Project Management and Engineering to achieve the financial targets for the Asia region. Responsibilities include leading a team of 8 Finance Managers to drive the achievement of financial targets while ensuring compliance with accounting, tax, SOX and internal controls requirements. The position requires interfacing with many internal stakeholders as well as with customers, suppliers and outside contractors. Management experience is a must, requiring strong communication skills to executive management. This role requires a strong background in accounting & finance, but importantly it must include project accounting & commercial contract skills, ideally having worked with infrastructure and construction projects
As the Director, Portfolio Finance and Management at Fluence, you will:
· Drive the achievement of battery storage solutions financial results for revenue, cash & margins for the region.· Provide leadership and mentorship to the Portfolio Finance Management, PFM team.
· Develop the organization to evolve into new countries and meet the growth strategy of the region.
· Ensure full financial transparency through timely and comprehensive project reporting, POC accounting and forecasting.· Collaborate on solutions and project mitigations, identify risks, find new opportunities to upsell.
· Work to continuously improve financial execution processes, find ways to be fast and agile and be a problem solver.
· Ensure adherence to applicable US GAAP & IFRS accounting, tax regulations and internal & external control guidelines.
· Support the Projects Managers and the PFM team to understand and follow commercial terms and conditions in customer and supplier contracts.
What will you bring to Fluence? · 12-15 years of increasing responsibility for financially managing large projects.
· Preference is for the candidate to have energy sector experience, including scopes of engineering, procurement and construction.
· Must have a had experience leading teams and be able to demonstrate ability & achieved objectives.
· Capability to drive the financial performance of a business.
· Advanced understanding of project accounting requirements.
· Advanced understanding of commercial contract terms and conditions.
· Experienced in negotiating directly with customers and suppliers.
· Demonstrated ability to interact with executive management.
· Be flexible to travel up to 25% travel within the region and occasionally globally.
