Who You Are
As an Accountant on the Finance team, you will be primarily responsible for the accounts payable processes, including maintaining a large number of vendor accounts while aligning with company policies and ensuring all supplier invoices are accurately documented, recorded, authorized, and paid timely. You will also be participating in other accounting related month end tasks.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Review, code, and process supplier invoices promptly and appropriately to ensure accuracy and timeliness of bill payment.
- Collaborate with PO requestor, Receiving Team and Procurement Team to resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
- Perform supplier account reconciliation and resolve discrepancies.
- Generate accruals for expected invoices not received and invoices received not processed for month-end.
- Administer and perform credit cards and virtual card reviews to ensure company policy compliance as well as accuracy in coding transactions.
- Maintain vendor accounts, including up to date documentation such as payment information and W-9s; Prepare and issue 1099 tax returns to applicable vendors at the end of each calendar year.
- Complete credit applications.
- Triage AP email inbox; Address issues proactively and respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner.
- Perform reconciliations of assigned accounts for month end.
- Participate in special projects, as needed
- Continually find better ways of operating, including P2P process, accruals, month-end and accounts payable transaction processing.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- 1 year experience with Accounts Payable or general accounting
- Strong attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and ability to understand the purpose of a task
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal skills; can effectively interface and collaborate with employees at all levels
- Proactive, action-oriented and self-starter
- Proficient knowledge of Macintosh computers, Google Sheets, and Excel
- ERP and P2P system experience is strongly preferred
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Move long distances (such as from building to building) and be stationary for extended periods of time
- Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier/printer, etc in a fixed location
The starting base pay for this role is between $36/hr and $46/hr at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, and equity. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for overtime. #LI-Onsite
