The Role
Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliation for the company only entity (for multiple European entities) and close European books including working cross functionally with various teams to resolve issues timelyAssist with preparation and improvement of monthly bank reconciliation processSupport the payroll and AR/AP team and manage local regulatory requirementsHandle finance lease related balance sheet or profit and loss accounts, including reconciliationAssist with monthly close activities including financial reporting and fluctuation analysisSupport annual audit, local compliance and statutory requirements, including local VAT, tax and local statutory fillingsAnalyze intercompany AR and AP for settlement purposesAssist with implementation of processes and controls in accordance with SOX compliance.To convert U.S. GAAP figures to IFRS standards with a focus on IFRS 16 (lease reporting) and to local GAAP standardsTo build a team as the operations grow in EuropeSpecial projects and other ad hoc assignments as assignedQualifications
Relevant background in publicly traded manufacturing companiesBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience is requiredExperience in SAP is a mustExcellent MS Excel skillsStrong understanding of IFRS and SOX compliance and U.S. GAAP (preferred)Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written)Must be able to read documents in English.Must be able to work with flexible work schedule to be in communication with US HQStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to develop strong partnerships and influence people effectivelyAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyCPA or equivalent preferred
