As VP Technical Projects, you will be the hand of our Chief Operations Officer. You will own the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Action Plan tracking and reporting for the COO’s global team of about 40 full-time engineers and operations professionals that will double in size in 2022. KPIs include Test Beds schedules, Delivered Energy, Delivered Power, Round Trip Efficiency/RTE, Construction Costs and schedules, and Budget vs Actual, and the creation and tracking of both Technology and Product Roadmaps used to drive our innovation.
What you will do
- Interact directly and regularly with the Operations Team’s Executive Leadership Team and our Chief Technical Officer and Co-Founder.
- Further your deep understanding of our renewable energy storage industry, our products and technology, our processes, our people, and our past, present, and future.
- Own the progress, communication, and monthly reporting for KPIs to the senior executive leadership team.
- Lead the monthly Operations meeting with the COO and his organization, including many engineers.
- Prepare and update slides for Board and other stakeholder presentations.
- Create, update, share, automate, and tell stories from spreadsheets and data dashboards.
- Collaborate, follow up with, and influence engineers and other technical professionals regarding goals, timelines, budgets, challenges, and bottlenecks.
- Celebrate team wins and milestones.

What a qualified candidate should possess
- Bachelor’s or Masters’ degree in an engineering or related field.
- 10+ years related experience in complex technical organizations.
- Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, and different types of project management software.
- Deep understanding of and experience with complex budgets and forecasting.
- Stellar attention to detail.
- Track record of building and improving upon processes that make sense.
- Excellent oral and written communication, as well as emotional intelligence.
- Experience in fast-paced startups is a plus.
- Experience in the energy industry is a plus.
- A passion for carbon neutrality by 2050 is a bonus.
