Responsibilities
Provide direction on high-level vehicle dynamics attributes target settingPerform vehicle benchmarking and subjective evaluations, including damper and steering tune evaluationsProvide guidance to the Product Engineering teams on how to achieve vehicle dynamics targets from concept through to productionWork closely with Product and Engineering teams to ensure correct requirements are cascade into technology partners and supplierResponsible for final attribute sign offUse 1D and MBS tools developed by RED-CAT/RED for vehicle dynamics decision makingSanity checking work using hand calculations and first principlesWork closely with colleagues in the RED-CAT team sharing knowledge and experience acquired across all Arrival productsReview, update and maintain best practices for vehicle dynamics for use across the company Collaborate with the Rapid Engineering Design (RED) team to assist with the automation of processes and workflowsWorks with the Lead Performance Engineer on planning activities and helps with updating Miro and Jira trackingStatus and action reports to the Lead Performance EngineerExperience
Masters degree or PhD in a STEM areaExcellent team-worker, who is agile, proactive, and has a "startup" attitudeGood knowledge of vehicle dynamics, vehicle setup, suspension systems, steering systems, braking systems and tyresGood knowledge of Jira, Miro, CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systemsProficient in the use of MBS simulation software Msc AdamsProficient in the use of 1D modelling software such as Matlab/SimulinkExperience in automation, scripting and programming, preferably in PythonTrack record demonstrating creativity and ingenuity
