Position Summary

The Utility Partnerships Manager is responsible for executing on business and market development objectives to promote ChargePoint’s network and products and advance transportation electrification throughout North America. Must be goal-motivated, adaptable in a fast-growing technology company environment, a strategic thinker, and detail-oriented. Successful candidates will have experience engaging with electric utilities and adjacent industries in North America.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with electric utilities and distributed energy resource management system (DERMS) providers in North America
  • Coordinate with internal teams to support growing ChargePoint’s business opportunities with utility investments in EV charging infrastructure
  • Support ChargePoint’s policy and sales objectives through helping to shape utility customer incentives
  • Represent ChargePoint in key utility industry forums and stakeholder processes related to electric vehicles and electric vehicle charging
  • Utilize SalesForce to track Utility Program details
  • Provide Utility Program updates to internal teams on a regular cadence and at program launch

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the electric utility industry, including understanding of investor-owned utility, municipal utilities, and retail electricity providers structure and business model.
  • Existing utility contacts and experience in managing utility accounts and/or selling to utilities in North America
  • Understanding of EV industry or related experience in clean energy, energy efficiency, or transportation. Some knowledge of utility customer programs and funding mechanisms preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business development and/or client relations in the energy, transportation, technology sector or other related field.
  • Track record of successfully managing strategic relationships with utilities
  • Proven experience in communicating complex solutions to a specialized sector
  • Ability to work independent, remote, and strong understanding of common business tools (including Microsoft Office and Salesforce)
  • Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines and manage projects independently.
  • Resourcefulness in solving problems with limited resources.
  • Knowledge of SalesForce reporting tools and report creation
  • Excellent people skills and an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Ability to travel frequently as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
