InnovaFeed is a biotech company that produces natural and sustainable ingredients for animal feed and plant nutrition from insect rearing (Hermetia illucens). 

We contribute to the growth of a high-quality fish farming sector by providing a new source of sustainable, natural and high-performance protein. We also produce high-quality insect oil than can be used in poultry and swine feed, as an alternative to imported oils. Our oil is rich in lauric acid, known for its anti-microbial properties. Finally, insect dejections are used as an organic fertilizer, closing the nitrogen loop in a circular way. 

InnovaFeeds’ innovating insect rearing process is deployed on an industrial scale to address the strain on natural resources in a responsible and sustainable way.

This Senior U.S. Business Manager would be responsible for representing InnovaFeed in the U.S. and launching InnovaFeed’s commercial efforts in North America. 

The responsibilities of this role include:

- Build InnovaFeed’s brand and lead communication strategy in North-America (represent InnovaFeed in conferences and panel discussions, lead discussions with journalist);

- Shape regulatory landscape by taking a leading role at the insect industry group (NACIA);

- Lead PR efforts and manage links with authorities (Decatur, Illinois) and other valuable networks / ecosystems (agricultural industry groups, labels, Universities…).

 

- Secure permits & logistics to commercialize products in the U.S. in partnership with InnovaFeed’s Sales Operation team

- Develop opportunities on core markets with focus on two segments:

- Develop our contracts in petfood (in the wake of recent legal approval for commercialization);

- Develop our contracts with swine and poultry players;

- Build North American value chains with retailers to replicate success of EU approach

 

- Secure authorization to commercialize InnovaFeed’s protein as food ingredient in the U.S.

- Conduct consumer studies to develop marketing specific to North American market

- Develop our contracts in food across identified market segments

 

- Have a leading role in the recruitment of InnovaFeed’s North American team;

- Participate in admin workstream / Participate in funding activities 

- You have 5-10 years’ experience in business development and/or management consulting focused on the AgTech sector and you ideally have a MBA

- You are independent, structured, with a strong drive to tackle challenges and at ease with high levels of complexity

- Located in the U.S., preferentially in the Chicago area
