Position Title: UI/UX Engineer

Reports To: Director, Software Engineering

Location: Greater Washington DC Area, Hybrid

 

Energy Vault Solutions is developing the automation and software that integrates storage technology into the power grid.  We are looking for a talented UI/UX Engineer to craft our user experience approach and develop the visualization for our energy management systems. 

 

You will design our user interfaces and develop the foundation for our user facing web applications.  You will work with our engineering team to craft an approach that allows our numerous stakeholders to control their energy assets and get the most out of our energy management systems.  You will help determine our tool chain and stand-up our initial implementation.  You will be joining an early-stage software team to help transform utility-scale storage.  

·       Work as a member of our software team to develop a well-integrated and easy to use product.

·       Design our user interfaces and work with our stakeholders to ensure we capture their visualization needs

·       Craft wireframes and build prototypes to collect feedback from our stakeholders for continuous improvement

·       Develop our user interface and lay a foundation for our user experience

·       Experience with developing prototypes and getting feedback for continuous improvement

·       Experience with developing user interfaces using React

·       A portfolio of past designs and work products is strongly preferred

·       A solid foundation in software engineering, computer science, and UI / UX best practices

·       5+ years of experience (7+ years preferred) developing and deploying web-based user interfaces

·       Experience with developing user interfaces to control hardware is strongly preferred

·       BS or MS in engineering preferred (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related)

·       Experience developing against server-side APIs such as REST interfaces

·       Experience with TypeScript is preferred

·       Experienced with software peer reviews and comfortable providing and receiving review feedback

·       Strong oral and written communication skills

·       Independent and capable of working in a fast-paced start-up environment

·       Experience in renewable energy, IoT, or the energy industry is preferred

·       A passion for carbon neutrality by 2050.
