About This Role:
As a Turbine/Station Operator at Crusoe in Abilene, TX, you will be crucial to the safe and efficient operation of our turbine-powered data centers. This role is essential to our mission of powering sustainable AI by utilizing stranded flare gas. You will directly impact our operational reliability and environmental sustainability by ensuring the continuous and optimized performance of our gas turbine generators and associated equipment. This involves hands-on operation, monitoring, maintenance support, and adherence to strict safety protocols. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, safety-conscious individual with a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to teamwork. This position requires the ability to work rotating shifts, providing 24/7 coverage. This is a full-time position.
What You’ll Be Working On:
Turbine Operations: Manage all aspects of safe operation for gas turbine-driven generators, exhaust SCRs, black start generators, and balance of plant equipment.
Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to alarms and emergencies, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment.
Shift Operations: Work a rotating shift schedule to provide 24/7 coverage at the facility.
Plant Inspections: Conduct regular rounds of the plant, inspecting equipment, and identifying potential issues to prevent downtime.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate operational logs and records, ensuring compliance and providing valuable data for analysis.
Logistics Support: Assist in receiving deliveries of supplies and equipment (Ammonia, Diesel, oversize parts, etc.) as needed.
Plant Support Operations: Operate plant support equipment safely and efficiently, including forklifts, manlifts, carts, and small cranes.
Facility Maintenance Support: Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly facility and proactively identify and report any maintenance or repair needs.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
Industrial Operations Experience: Experience in industrial operations, preferably in an oil & gas or power generation environment, demonstrating practical understanding of operational procedures.
Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic mechanical principles, enabling effective troubleshooting and problem-solving.
Teamwork & Independence: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative work environment.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating clear and effective communication with colleagues.
Safety Awareness: Strong attention to detail and safety awareness, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
Shift Work Availability: Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, ensuring continuous coverage.
High School Diploma/GED: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Bonus Points:
Gas Turbine Operations Experience: Experience with gas turbine operations is highly desirable.
Instrumentation & Control Understanding: Basic understanding of instrumentation and control systems is a plus.
Forklift Certification: Forklift operator certification is beneficial.
CMMS Experience: Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is advantageous.
Power Plant Operations Experience: Additional experience in power plant operations or related fields is desirable.
