The tritium engineer will work closely with the SPARC fueling and tritium SRO, technical leads, and tritium experts to test, design, procure, and operate tritium processing systems for the SPARC fuel cycle. These systems include separation of tritium from other hydrogenics and tokamak gases, instrumentation and measurement, storage, and interfacing with other fueling and tokamak systems. This engineer will design and specify the requirements for the tritium storage, monitoring and separation systems, conduct hands-on lab work for validating the design, and develop integrated tritium systems for the SPARC fuel team. They may also support early design for the fueling systems on the ARC tokamak, a deuterium-tritium pilot power plant. The fueling systems engineer will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, builders, scientists, vendors, and supply integration managers, and report to the Fueling and Tritium System Responsible Officer.

Applicants must have hands-on experience with tritium and/or vacuum-grade systems. Additionally, experience prototyping systems, familiarity with gas instrumentation and diagnostics, design for vacuum, and systems integration are welcome. This job may require periodic travel for off-site testing at collaborative facilities, supplier development, and meetings with tritium researchers.

CFS team members thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and have demonstrated exceptional results through a range of different pursuits. We all tightly align with our company values of integrity, execution, impact and self-critique.
