What you’ll do:
- Development of the Electric Motor (Engine) with specialty in electric engine process development including: Tilt Propeller System (TPS) and Electric Propulsion Unit (EPU).
- Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes to collaborate with cross functional teams including Product Design Engineering, Quality, and Facilities teams.
- Drive the Design for Manufacturability efforts with the product design team.
- Conduct process failure mode and analysis (PFMEA) for the production system.
- Develop the manufacturing Build Plan (line layout, manufacturing methods, part flow, tools, equipment, precedence network, etc.) and determine an appropriate MBOM.
- Create Training/SWI documentation for assembly and installation.
- Oversee technician/operator training on the equipment.
- Design manufacturing equipment and fixtures in-house.
- Participate in early prototype builds to characterize product and process critical parameters, ensuring alignment with production requirements.
- Develop specifications for tooling and automation equipment.
- Develop rework and repair strategies with Product Design Engineering and Quality Engineering as part of a shop floor NCM management plan.
- Lead qualification of new equipment including: checking basic functionality, performing calibration, GR&R, fault injection, process capability studies, and establishing a process verification plan.
- Collaborate with the Controls Engineering and IT team to validate process data integrity with MES and other databases.
- Manage the procurement, construction, acceptance and deployment of production equipment.
- Support first-unit builds and testing, ensuring that both product and production systems meet quality standards and specifications.
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronic, or a equivalent & related practical experience
- Experience commissioning and improving Equipment.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
- Proficiency using 2D and/or 3D CAD to generate manufacturing layouts, assembly models, and detailed part drawings for fabrication.
- Demonstrated experience in statistical process control and GD&T.
- Excellent communicator, both in presentations and written reports.
- Able to maintain organization and focus in a highly dynamic environment.
- Prefer ability to travel 20% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
Bonus Qualifications:
- 1+ year work experience including prior internships or full-time experience in Aerospace manufacturing engineering or similar role.
- Experience with fastening and pressing process development.
- Experience developing production lines from prototype to production.
- Experience with PLM, MES, and ERP software.
- Direct experience programming and troubleshooting industrial automation (PLC, robots, gantries, etc…)

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $120,000 - $130,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Archer is looking for candidates with location flexibility, open availability to be trained in San Jose - California and move to Covington - Georgia. Travel flexibility will be necessary, specifically inside of the United States and abroad when participating in Machines Facilities Acceptance Tests or Machines Tryouts and related projects meetings.
