Your role and your team:

We are looking for an outstanding Software Tools and Tool Qualification Engineer that will be responsible for selecting and developing innovative software tools to support the development and certification of the next-generation of airborne software intensive systems the Lilium jet. The innovative Software Intensive Systems (SIS) team is a highly skilled and experienced group of people who perform interdependent systems and software related tasks working toward shaping the future of urban e-mobility.

Your Day to Day: 

  • Analyze internal software life cycle development process to identify potential areas in which software tools can be used.
  • Develop software tools to eliminate, reduce or automate the internal software life cycle development process in accordance with DO-178C/DO-330 as well as ARP4754A.
  • Maintain, debug and update internally developed software tools in accordance to applicable standards and plans.
  • Asses commercially available software tools and provide recommendations regarding their applicability and qualification merits.
  • Manage communication and co-operation with software tools providers and suppliers.
  • Mentor and guide SIS team, as well as other internal stakeholders, in the principles and regulations of software tools qualification.
  • Own Tool Qualification Process (DO-330) for all the software tools (internal and external).
  • Interact with regulatory authorities as tool qualification representative on behalf of the company.

 Your Profile: 

  • Sc/M.Sc/M.Eng in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in airborne system and/or software engineering (civil aviation is a plus).
  • In-depth knowledge of DO-178C/DO-330.
  • Work experience in tool qualification of, at least one, of the following commercially available software tools:
    • Matlab/Simulink & Polyspace,
    • Rapita RVS tools,
    • Ansys Scade and,
    • VectorCast software testing platform.
  • Hands-on experience in developing software tools to automate development and/or verification of airborne software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and to present complex technical topics to a multi-level audience
  • Experience in supplier management and supplier drive.
  • Proven experience achieving qualification of software tools with aerospace regulatory authorities.
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, Fluent German or any other language would be beneficial
