Role Description
We are looking for a Test Engineer II to facilitate the subscale electrochemical testing efforts of Form Energy’s long duration energy storage system. As a test engineer on the Anode team, you will be integral in ensuring our experiments produce high-fidelity, actionable data. In addition to enabling impactful testing, you will work closely with Technical Operations, Mechanical Design, and Infrastructure teams to design, develop, standardize, and continuously improve testing methods. This role is anticipated to be primarily hands-on, with >60% of time spent working in the laboratory. As a part of a team of experienced scientists, engineers, and data analysts, this is an opportunity to have a direct, daily impact on the development of a unique battery technology designed to tackle climate change.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop scalable testing solutions and processes to enable subscale testing 
  • Support design, commissioning, and troubleshooting of advanced battery testing systems with a focus on improving testing reliability
  • Write a variety of electrochemical test scripts across multiple battery cycling instruments
  • Define and automate data analysis from test stands and electrochemical cells to enable data-based decision making
  • Write clear and concise SOPs to document standardized processes, train others to follow these best practices
  • Communicate your findings within a cross-functional team.
  • What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or equivalent knowledge obtained from this degree
  • 2+ years of electrochemical testing experience (battery testing a plus)
  • Proficiency with scripting languages and/or statistical software (Python/JMP a plus)
  • Experience with data acquisition and wiring
  • High attention to detail, excellent organizational, and communication skills
  • A growth mindset to pair with a preference for experiential learning
  • Project management experience a plus
