Role Description
We are looking for an experienced individual in the test and development area to help us develop our core technology.  As part of a growing test operations team, you will continuously improve, write, and develop electrical, mechanical and electrochemical test processes for a variety of cell and system requirements as we scale up our technology. You will work closely with the technology development and technical operations teams to support battery testing, facilitate analysis of test data, and contribute to test operations process development - making a direct impact on our mission towards enabling a 100% renewable grid.

What You'll Do:

  • Be the primary owner of testing, validating and qualifying Form’s battery architecture to continually improve the system design
  • Collaborate with internal customers and suppliers to create, update and improve the test execution forecast planning
  • Work with other test engineers and technicians to commission the battery test stands and execute test plansCreate and document SOPs/ Work Instruction framework for test execution and train technicians on new processes
  • Analyze test data, document the findings and present the summary to Technology Development teams
  • Participate in cross functional efforts to perform cell teardowns, debug test instrument issues and root cause analyses
  • Lead efforts to track performance of ongoing tests, weekly control units and employ statistical analysis tools to identify performance and/or test stand variability
  • What You'll Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in Test engineering functions involving electrical, mechanical or electrochemical systems 
  • Experience with battery test methods (undergraduate lab or course work accepted)
  • Familiarity with sensor placement & data acquisition techniques using tools such as LabView
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python and/or MATLab
  • Experience with statistical analysis and using tools such as Minitab or JMP 
  • Experience using complex iterative logic, including writing test scripts 
  • Laboratory safety knowledge
  • High attention to detail and organizational habits
  • Strong communication skills within a group of peers and broader organization
  • BS degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent knowledge obtained from this degree
