About the company:

Doing something different is never easy. It requires courage, optimism and grit. Core to our mission is building a team of adventurous individuals determined to make a positive impact on the world. This means challenging ourselves constantly. Stretching beyond the bounds of conventional thinking. Reframing old problems. Seeking new solutions. And operating comfortably in a space of uncertainty. While our backgrounds are diverse, our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations. Do you like doing the impossible? We’d love to hear from you.

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary:

In this role, you will be part of the team that develops automated test solutions for Rivian’s electronic control units (ECUs) including Level 3+ ADAS, telematics, infotainment, battery management, and vehicle control systems. Our team’s solutions include internal-facing software, low-level firmware, data management platforms, and custom electromechanical hardware. These solutions get deployed internally within Rivian and at external labs and contract manufacturing facilities.

You will be an individual contributor on a very cross-functional role that helps drive the development of test automation solutions for design characterization, validation, and manufacturing. The primary responsibility of this role is to work with program managers and test automation leads to coordinate the successful execution of projects. You will enforce and define processes followed by the test automation team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall team operation including budgets, processes, and timelines.
  • Coordinate test automation project schedules as they relate to the overall program milestones and timelines.
  • Manage the communication with cross-functional teams and external vendors during the lifecycle of projects.
  • Coordinate the requirements gathering process for new projects among various teams including hardware design, firmware development, validation, and manufacturing.
  • Lead the creation of documentation, maintenance manuals, and “how-to” guides for test automation solutions.
  • Manage and track deployed assets within Rivian and at external facilities.
  • Manage the sourcing of internally-designed components and third-party instrumentation.
  • Effectively communicate development status, risks, and challenges to senior leadership.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will meet many of the following requirements:

  • BS/MS or equivalent work experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
  • Highly effective and professional verbal and written communication skills with the team, internal customers, and vendors.
  • Process-oriented, with strong focus on teamwork and internal customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work cross functionally within a geographically disperse organization. · Experience using Jira, agile development methodologies, and other project management tools.
  • Experience working with companies developing engineering systems.
  • Comfortable working on projects with tight schedules and evolving requirements. · Experience managing logistics operations that successfully meet timelines.

Nice To Have:

  • Experience in the automotive, semiconductor, or aerospace industries.
  • Experience working with test automation equipment (ATE).
