Join the power movement as a Technician - Welding and Assembly
Join a cutting-edge team working to build and test high-field superconducting magnets — critical to unlocking the future of clean energy. As a Technician, you'll perform complex electromechanical assembly and in-house welding of large-scale metallic structures and components. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, with a focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

What you'll do:
Assemble electromechanical components per detailed work instructions, drawings, and wiring diagramsOperate production, testing, and high-powered magnet equipmentUse calibrated mechanical tools (e.g., torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers)Troubleshoot assembly issues and suggest process improvementsPerform precision soldering, wiring, epoxy potting, injection molding, and vacuum system workCollaborate with engineers to refine processes and improve manufacturabilityWeld metallic structures and tooling using GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, and other methodsRead and analyze blueprints, perform detailed measurements, and plan welding layoutsUse hand or semi-automated welding equipment to produce welds in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead)Weld stainless steel and copper, including pressure-rated and critical applicationsParticipate in welding equipment qualifications and inspectionsProvide design feedback on weld geometries and material choicesWhat we’re looking for:
High school diploma or equivalent6+ years of experience in electromechanical or electrical/mechanical assembly5+ years of welding experience with structural systems and toolingProficiency with a variety of hand tools, power tools, and measurement devicesAbility to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematicsDocumented training or certifications in welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW)Bonus points for:
