We are currently seeking a talented Technical Specialist for Lucid Smart Energy Products and the Smart Energy Program. This position requires an experienced professional with a proven track record of excellence in understanding, contributing to and defining complex technical standards combining electrical and digital aspects. The candidate demonstrates strong organizational capability and the ability to command respect from the talented cross functional teams. The ideal candidate will communicate proactively, so each individual team member remains aware of the timing and delivery expectations placed upon them and that critical issues are identified and brought to the attention of senior management in a timely manner.

Oversee the requirements to safely integrate a smart energy setup into the electrical gridWork with utilities across the U.S. to work towards common standardsInfluence standardization bodiesDrive Security specificationAnalyze the needs and actively contribute to Standardization, Protocol Specification and CertificationSpecify messaging for bidirectional power transferIntegration into larger home or building management system, decide upon protocol for doing soEnsure smart grid interoperabilityDrive roadmap of target certifications on vehicle componentsOversee and select standards for smart home, EVSE integration, safety and others as relevantSnip and downsize standards to enable fast prototyping with upgrade path to full protocol stack implementation
Qualifications:
Technical experience in the field of electric vehicle chargingTechnical experience with smart home energy systems and the electrical gridPreferably [8+] years experience in the relevant field with a a strong focus on system-level architectureDeep understanding of electrical principles and digital communication principles and protocols on “M.Sc.-Level”The drive to influence standardization committees balancing different interests, arguing with technical reason and having the customer’s interests in mindStrong ability of abstraction and combining both, a system-wide approach and a product-centric viewpointExperience with creating system and component specifications and communication protocols
Education:
Ph.D. preferredMaster’s degree in an engineering or technical discipline (electrical engineering, microelectronics, computer science, physics, or similar).
