The Role:

  • Work with stakeholders to break down features and requirements and develop the vehicle 12V distribution and communication architecture
  • Conduct studies, develop concepts and derive specifications
  • Develop and optimize architectures to support a multitude of vehicle variants and gain synergies to reduce time to market and cost
  • Work with other stakeholders to review SOC (System on Chip) roadmaps and impact on architecture
  • Support Integration and Wiring Harness Engineers to implement the electrical system architecture for the vehicle
  • Present architecture designs and roadmaps to the Execute leadership team 
  • Prepare and execute low voltage architecture reviews
  • Support Network Communication Integration Engineers to define and implement the vehicle network communication design
  • Work with test and validation engineers to prepare and execute low voltage architecture validation tasks
  • Review log data to support the architecture validation and support issue resolution
  • Participate in the design of a world class engineering effort to bring electric vehicles to a new level of refinement
  • Qualifiations:

  • Bachelors degree in the areas of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other related fields. Masters preferred
  • 5+ years of experience with vehicle architecture development in multi-program landscapes 
  • Fundamental understanding of circuit design, mechanical systems, sensors and actuators, architectural concepts as well as ECU (Electronic Control Units) communication 
  • Experience using engineering tools to develop and document power architecture, network, and communication designs  
  • Ability to read and understand vehicle wiring schematics 
  • Experience with failure analysis methodology like FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and fault trees 
  • Knowledge of ISO26262 and ASIL decomposition  
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Grafana, Tableau  
  • Motivation to make complicated systems work together 
  • Electric vehicle systems and hands-on integration testing experience 
  • Creativity in your design 
  • Motivation to make a difference in the automotive industry 
  • Excellent communication skills
