We are seeking a Technical Proposal Writer with proven experience or deep knowledge in hydrology, atmospheric science, and/or water resources. In this role, you will lead the development of competitive proposals, white papers, and project reports by translating complex scientific information into clear and comprehensive documents. The ideal candidate will excel at managing multiple projects, coordinating with technical subject matter experts, and tailoring writing for different stakeholders (e.g., government agencies, research institutions, private clients).

What You'll Do

  • Proposal Development Collaborate with cross-functional teams—scientists, engineers, project managers—to gather and interpret technical information related to water resources, hydrology, and atmospheric science. Develop compelling and compliant proposals, including the scope of work, timelines, and technical narratives. Ensure all proposal sections are cohesive, consistent, and meet client requirements and organizational guidelines.
  • Technical Writing & Editing Create clear, concise, and accurate written content for project proposals, reports, and technical presentations. Translate complex scientific data (e.g., modeling results, environmental assessments) into reader-friendly summaries and executive-level overviews. Edit and proofread content from SMEs to maintain a uniform tone and style in line with brand and regulatory requirements.
  • Content Research & Organization Research relevant industry standards, best practices, and emerging trends in hydrology, atmospheric science, and water resources. Maintain a repository of standard proposal language, research data, and project-specific collateral. Incorporate up-to-date technical information and case studies to strengthen proposals.
  • Project Coordination Serve as the point of contact for proposal progress, deadlines, and deliverables. Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., government affairs, finance, legal) to collect required documentation and ensure completeness and compliance. Track and report on proposal status to leadership, ensuring all timelines are met.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance Address feedback from internal reviewers, external partners, and clients promptly and accurately. Support post-submission activities such as clarifications, presentations, and debriefings.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hydrology, Atmospheric Science, Water Resources, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated understanding of hydrological or atmospheric principles, data analysis, and water use and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret scientific data (rainfall-runoff models, weather forecasting data, climate impact assessments, watershed studies) and convey it accurately.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with an emphasis on clarity, accuracy, and engagement. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent projects. Detail-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
