Your role and your team:

You will report to the Manager of Technical Publications and work closely with several cross-functional teams including Systems Engineering, Chief Engineering, Flight Testing, Commercial, and Maintenance.   

You will have the rare opportunity to create best-in-class technical illustrations and manuals that will enable the certification and operation of an iconic eVTOL jet. You will be responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining technical illustrations within Lilium’s Design Organisation.

You will work with autonomy and in collaboration with our team of technical authors to deliver high-quality illustrations to support all phases of our aircraft design and operation.

Your Day to Day:

  • Plan, develop, and maintain technical illustrations for flight manuals and maintenance manuals   
  • Review design data, engineering drawings, and other source material to gather and synthesize information required for illustrations
  • Prepare illustrations, drawings, exploded views, disassemble/assemble instructions required for manuals and IPC
  • Analyze engineering drawings and designs to create accurate representation for technical illustrations
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure all relevant technical information is captured and articulated in technical illustrations
  • Analyze and prioritize feedback from technical authors and subject matter experts and implement necessary changes to technical illustrations
  • Review and verify all incoming illustrations from suppliers and partners
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of illustration processes, methods, and tools

Your Profile:

  • 3 ~ 6 years of experience in the preparation of all types of illustrations for aerospace publications: parts breakdown/exploded view diagrams, and 3D modelling
  • Prior experience developing and implementing technical illustration processes and workflows
  • Familiar with following standards and specifications: S1000D, CSDB, and Simplified Technical English (STE)
  • Proficient with Siemens NX, Adobe Illustrator, IsoDraw, CorelDRAW, ArborText Editor, and Siemens Teamcenter
  • Strong attention to detail and personal organization
  • Ability to manage priorities, and a proactive approach to resolving problems and delivering results
  • Ability to work and thrive in a dynamic and multi-cultural environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; aerospace-related education would be a plus
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
