About the company:

Reverion is a German deep-tech energy company that develops reversible fuel cell systems for highly efficient power generation, electrolysis, energy storage, and carbon capture. Spun out of the Technical University of Munich (TU München), the company produces modular power plant systems capable of converting biogas or hydrogen into electricity at efficiencies of up to 80 percent — roughly double the efficiency of conventional combined heat and power (CHP) systems. Their systems are designed to serve applications ranging from agricultural biogas plants to large-scale industrial energy infrastructure. Reverion's technology is centered on solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) that can operate reversibly, switching between power generation and electrolysis modes with short transition times. This enables the systems to function as both a power plant and an electrolyzer, converting surplus renewable electricity into methane or hydrogen for storage and later use. The hydrogen systems achieve a round-trip efficiency of up to 75 percent, supporting sector coupling and grid stabilization. Unlike conventional combustion-based power plants, Reverion's systems operate emission-free, and the CO2 separated during the process can be utilized industrially or stored permanently, enabling climate-positive energy production. Reverion's mission is to advance the energy transition by replacing fossil-fuel-based power generation with clean, highly efficient alternatives that are both ecologically and economically viable. The company combines cutting-edge research with real-world deployment, with operational projects demonstrating its technology's performance in the field. Reverion positions itself as a pioneer in next-generation energy infrastructure, targeting a future of stable, flexible, and climate-friendly energy supply.

Who we are

A future without fossil fuels – that’s our ambitious goal. At Reverion, we strongly believe that biogas will play a key role on the path to a 100% renewable, decentralized energy supply. Our vision is to replace the combustion engines still widely used today with ultra-modern, highly efficient, and flexible micro power plants.

Ready to drive the fleet of the future? Join us as Team Lead Software Development -
 Fleet & Services (m/f/x)!

Your mission

As Team Lead for Software Development – Fleet & Services (m/f/x), you are the driving force at the intersection of PLC systems and modern cloud infrastructure. You lead a team that connects our plants, makes real-time data actionable, and actively drives digital solutions like our Remote Plant Operation Cockpit.

1/ Fleet Management & Operations

  • You own and shape the strategy for plant connectivity and secure remote access.
  • You optimize deployment processes (CI/CD) for over-the-air (OTA) updates in the field.
  • You ensure that our plants can be monitored and controlled at all times.

2/ Data Infrastructure

  • You lead the design and operation of a highly available data infrastructure.
  • You manage modern time-series databases (e.g., InfluxDB, ClickHouse) and implement scalable streaming solutions (MQTT, Kafka).
  • You ensure real-time processing of sensor data in close collaboration with our Data Analytics & Digital Solutions team.

3/ Services & Core Libraries

  • You drive the development of central services and libraries (data logging, alarming systems).
  • You are responsible for monitoring IT resources and integrating the field level (e.g., via EtherCAT).
  • You support our PLC developers as well as application and control engineers with software development and feature implementation where needed.

4/ Leadership & Strategy

  • You lead and mentor a team of software developers, supporting both technical and personal growth.
  • You shape the long-term vision for our software stack and translate business requirements into a clear technical roadmap.
  • As the interface between operations, engineering, and data science, you prioritize requirements and translate them into a structured product backlog.

Your profile

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • You bring several years of hands-on experience in software development with hardware integration (ideally in the energy sector or Industrial IoT).
  • You've led development teams (at least technically) and thrive in agile project management (SCRUM) as well as precise requirements engineering.
  • You are skilled in Python, C#, or Rust and have no fear of PLC systems (e.g., Beckhoff TwinCAT).
  • You're a true generalist and act as a translator between cloud architects, DevOps engineers, and PLC programmers.
  • You speak English fluently and German at a good level (minimum B1).

What we offer

  • Strategy & ownership: Play a key role in shaping our projects and driving meaningful decisions forward
  • Make an impact: Flat hierarchies, short decision paths, and real ownership give you the freedom to turn ideas into action
