Your role and your team:

We are looking for an outstanding System Engineer with aerospace experience in RF engineering field to join our innovative team that will shape the future of urban e-mobility.

This position will report to our Avionics Manager into our Electronic & Electrical Engineering department and will contribute, as part of an integrated cross functional team, to the electric and electronic systems architecture, design, certification, and delivery of the Lilium Jet.

You will have a chance in shaping the future of mobility by not only defining the components of communication system but also in their development as well as in coordinating with regulatory partners/suppliers.

You will take responsibility for the development of communication subsystems and components while ensuring their compliance to relevant safety standards.

Your Day to Day:

  • Support in CNS system architecture design, taking into account RF equipment specific requirements (transceivers, antennas, interconnection parts).
  • Develop system requirements in respect to required antenna performance.
  • Perform aircraft antenna co-site analysis (performance, RFI).
  • Support mechanical integration of antennas within aircraft structure.
  • Support in evaluating electromagnetic environmental effects.
  • Development of novel aircraft antenna concepts.
  • Perform RF equipment characterization as well as verification of installed antenna performance.
  • Take ownership of your subsystem and manage its whole implementation cycle.
  • Develop, challenge, and continuously improve subsystem and item technical concepts.
  • Define system functional and safety architecture.
  • Work together with other departments and external suppliers to find the simplest and most elegant solutions.
  • Continuously improve your tools and methods.
  • Work on ad hoc related tasks or projects provided by management.

Your Profile:

  • University degree or equivalent qualification (MSc., M.Eng. or PhD preferred) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, Telecommunications Engineering or other relevant field
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in RF system engineering field.
  • Strong background in antenna design, characterization, and analysis.
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation software tools (HFSS, CST, Feko).
  • Knowledge of the certification requirements for CNS systems.
  • Knowledge of antenna performance and environmental qualification process.
  • Knowledge of EMC system and components analysis.
  • Experience in RF system engineering (antenna performance, co-site analysis).
  • Hands-on experience with aerospace product development.
  • Strong motivation to help build structures and processes.
  • High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomous.
  • Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills required.
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial.
