About the company:

BETA Technologies is creating an electric transportation ecosystem that’s safe, reliable and sustainable. A relentlessly focused team is building an extensive charging infrastructure and ALIA, the world’s most technologically advanced electric vertical aircraft (EVA).

BETA’s platform and products are strikingly simple. Prioritization of safety and a pragmatic approach to certification drive elegant redundancy, appropriate diversity of implementation and simplicity of control. ALIA’s fixed-pitch propellers and centrally located batteries make it an inherently stable aircraft that is safe to fly and easy to maneuver.

The ideal Systems Engineer candidate has a BS in a relevant engineering discipline and is a systems engineering guru that understands the critical importance of a clear and unambiguous requirement set. 5+ years of experience on Part 23 or 27 aircraft or rotorcraft avionics programs and demonstrated experience with Application Lifecycle Management software tools preferred. The individual should have an in-depth understanding of SAE ARP 4754A and ARP 4761 and a passion for safety and safety analysis.

The candidate should be familiar with pilot workload for single-pilot operation and the role avionics play for safe aviation, navigation, and communication. The candidate should be comfortable working with a team of certification engineers, DER’s, systems engineers, and other design engineers and be able to provide critical design feedback as it relates to safety and requirements verification. The candidate should expect to contribute as a team member to establish, manage and ensure compliance to the customer, regulatory, aircraft, and system-level requirements including demonstrating compliance through safety assessment.
