The Role

We are looking for an outstanding Avionics Systems Engineer to join our innovative team that will shape the future of urban e-mobility.

This position will report into our Avionics Engineering Manager and will contribute, as part of an integrated cross functional team, to the systems architecture, design, test, certification, and delivery of the Lilium Jet.

You will take responsibility for the development, test, and certification of subsystems and components and ensure their compliance to safety standards. The focus for this position is on system integration in the aircraft and verification.

Your Day to Day:

  • Design system architecture for one or more of the above-mentioned systems in accordance with ARP4754 and ARP4761.
  • Take ownership of your system(s) and manage its whole implementation cycle with particular attention to the right side of the V-cycle (verification, testing, compliance).
  • Write test requirements and participate in test activities at system and aircraft level.
  • Work together with other departments and external suppliers to find the simplest and most effective solutions (including custom test equipment for system integration and installation into the test benches).
  • Produce system documentation for your assigned system(s): requirements update, interfaces updates, verification matrix, test cases, test results, plans, certification documentation, etc.
  • Perform the test execution with automated test tools and measurement equipment for verification and validation activities.
  • Evaluation of test reports and the test results.
  • Creation of Failure Analysis Reports/defect reporting when required.
  • Work on ad hoc related tasks or projects as assigned.

Your Profile:

  • Engineering degree (M. Eng. or M. Sc. preferred) in relevant Engineering fields required.
  • Experience in Auto flight, Communication, Navigation, Cockpit Display System, Maintenance, Integrated Modular Avionics systems.
  • Experience with hardware and software development process according to DO 178B/C and DO 254 and familiarity with ARP4754 is highly appreciated.
  • Experience in test & test rig instrumentation, test execution & data processing.
  • Good understanding of network protocols like, CAN, ARINC 429, RS422/485, UART, ethernet.
  • Knowledge of Honeywell Test Benches like TRACS, SITS or Micro-SITS environment is beneficial.
  • Experiences with MOC SC-VTOL is a bonus.
  • Positive, target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills required.
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial.
