Your role and your team:

We are looking for an outstanding Systems Engineer to join our innovative team that will shape the future of urban e-mobility.

This position will report to our Avionics Manager inside the Electronic & Electrical Engineering department and will contribute as part of the "Autoflight" integrated cross functional team, to the Autoland system architecture, design, certification and delivery of the Lilium Jet.

You will have a chance in shaping the future of mobility by not only defining the Autoland System but also developing components and co-ordination with regulatory partners/suppliers.

You will take responsibility for the development of subsystems and components and ensure their compliance to safety standards.

Your Day to Day:

  • Set the architecture and techniques used for the Autoland of the Lilium Jet
  • Identify and define System and Functions Requirements for Autoland system
  • Identify applicable operational and airworthiness certification basis
  • Implement and test solutions in a rapid development environment
  • Contribute to the development of acceptable means of compliance through participation in different forums (EUROCAE, RTCA, SAE)
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders for Autoland system development and design
  • Interface with potential suppliers
  • Support design review meeting when required
  • Support program schedules and plans
  • Support System Safety Analysis
  • Implement and support V&V Strategy
  • Support of components manufacturing and their installation.
  • Use and develop Lilium’s simulation, testing, and verification tools
  • Development of required system documentation (e.g. SDD) in supporting Autoland development and certification

Your Profile:

  • +5 years of experience in aerospace development / aircraft systems
  • Experience with Automatic Landing System and Automatic Take-off System and relative guidance
  • Hands on rapid prototyping and HW integration on flight demonstrators
  • Experience with following Systems is considered a plus:
    • Experience with Integrated Modular Avionics architecture and with DO-297
    • Experience with FMS (Flight Management System)
    • Experience with PBN, RNAV, or RNP navigation concepts
    • Experience on ATA22/ATA27 systems
    • Experience on MBSE (Model Based System Engineering)
  • Experience in aeronautical systems integration and systems engineering: ARP4754
  • Experience with Autoflight applicable FAA or EASA regulations and advisory material (FAR/CS 23,25,27,29).
  • Experience in development of safety critical systems
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial
