Help us make a big green dent in the universe. We're on a mission to drive the global renewable energy revolution, and we need loads more people to help us make our vision a reality.

Here at Octopus Energy ECO, we’re responsible for delivering the government mandated ECO (Energy Company Obligation) scheme on behalf of Octopus Energy. We are super passionate about helping customers on low income and benefits improve the insulation in their homes, to help reduce their bills and carbon emissions. We work with an internal and external supply chain insulating customer homes across the UK within the compliance rules of the eco scheme.

We are looking for a Support Services Specialist to be a part of Octopus Energy Eco. You’ll be assisting in a variety of tasks to support the function of the workstream you may be placed in. Support services covers a multitude of activities from billing ECO work to customer leads.

The role is remote but would require occasional travel and potential overnight stays at one of our office locations in the UK.

If this sounds like you then we'd love to hear from you.

Studies have shown that some groups of people, like women, are less likely to apply to a role unless they meet 100% of the job requirements. Whoever you are, if you like one of our jobs, we encourage you to apply as you might just be the candidate we hire. Across Octopus, we're looking for genuinely decent people who are honest and empathetic. Our people are our strongest asset and the unique skills and perspectives people bring to the team are the driving force of our success. As an equal opportunity employer, we do not discriminate on the basis of any protected attribute. Our commitment is to provide equal opportunities, an inclusive work environment, and fairness for everyone.

What you'll do

  • Assisting with a variety of projects that are necessary to meet our goals
  • Supporting the ECO and Support Services team laterally
  • Support our in-house installation team to insulate customer homes from arranging to book customer appointments through to ordering the materials and equipment they’ll need to do this
  • Creating invoices to pay our installer network for the work they’ve delivered to us
  • Raising credit notes and balancing installer accounts
  • Checking technical monitoring has been completed where necessary
  • Allocating customer leads across our supply chain to arrange for eligible customer homes to be insulated
  • Liaising with our supply chain to gain updates and answer queries
  • Converting partial eco projects to full projects
  • Producing reports and analysis to keep stakeholders informed
  • What you'll need

  • A flexible approach and happy to work in a changing environment
  • Desire to take on responsibility and see tasks through to the completion
  • Excellent level of communication to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • An eye for detail, spotting and resolving potential issues
  • Good excel skills for analysis and reporting
  • Good numerical and literary accuracy
  • Well organised with the ability to work across a number of varied activities covered within the Support Services team
  • Ability to work within a dynamic team and autonomously
  • An understanding of the eco obligation is a nice to have but not essential
  • Why else you'll love it here

  • Wondering what the salary for this role is? Just ask us! On a call with one of our recruiters it's something we always cover as we genuinely want to match your experience with the correct salary. The reason why we don't advertise is because we honestly have a degree of flexibility and would never want salary to be a reason why someone doesn't apply to Octopus - what's more important to us is finding the right octofit!
