About the company:

ICEYE is a Finnish space technology company that owns and operates the world's largest commercial synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite constellation. The company delivers continuous, all-weather, day-and-night Earth observation capabilities, enabling persistent monitoring and rapid detection of changes at any location on the planet. Its core offerings span SAR data products, mission systems for sovereign governments, defense and intelligence solutions, and natural catastrophe monitoring for the insurance, banking, and public sectors. ICEYE plays a significant role in climate resilience and disaster response by providing near real-time, observed data on natural catastrophes such as floods, wildfires, and hurricanes. Unlike traditional modelling approaches, ICEYE delivers actual satellite-derived flood extents and depths, empowering governments, insurers, and utilities to respond faster and more accurately to climate-driven disasters. This capability supports community resilience, more precise insurance claims processing, and informed policy decisions in the face of increasing climate risk. What distinguishes ICEYE is its combination of the largest SAR constellation globally, sub-meter (25 cm) resolution imagery, and an end-to-end operational intelligence infrastructure that includes deployable ground units capable of compressing collection-to-dissemination timelines to minutes. Founded with a mission to make Earth observation data continuously available and actionable, ICEYE serves defense, intelligence, government, and commercial clients worldwide, positioning itself as a critical enabler of both national security and climate adaptation efforts.

About ICEYE

ICEYE is the global leader in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite operations for Earth Observation, persistent monitoring, and natural catastrophe solutions, owning and operating the world's largest SAR constellation. Headquartered in Finland, we operate from five international locations with more than 600 employees from nearly 60 countries, inspired by the shared vision of improving life on Earth by becoming the global source of truth in Earth Observation.

Our satellites image the Earth at any time, even through cloud and darkness, giving commercial and government partners unmatched persistent monitoring capability. Teamwork, curiosity and having fun are core values at ICEYE, and they are what make the impossible possible.

About the Role

You will build and electrically verify the RF and avionics subsystems that go into every ICEYE satellite.

Working in our cleanroom production line, you take a kitted work order from the shelf, assemble the unit to controlled procedures, verify on the bench that it performs to specification, and hand a fully traceable, flight-ready subsystem to the satellite integration line.

If you enjoy breadth, want to understand how a whole satellite goes together rather than one corner of it, and like the idea of genuinely owning every unit that leaves your bench, this is the role. You will work day to day alongside AIT Engineering, Quality and the Integration team.

What You Will Do

  • Assemble both avionics and RF subsystems to detailed, controlled work instructions, moving between product families as the production plan requires

  • Perform electrical verification of the units you build, using our verification toolbox, bench power supplies, multimeters and unit-specific test setups

  • Cross-train across the full subsystem set and progress through our competence matrix towards independent sign-off on each unit type

  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings and parts lists to confirm correct build configuration

  • Carry out peer visual inspection of assemblies and share findings constructively with your colleagues

  • Identify non-conformances, raise clear and well-evidenced reports, and support engineering with fault-finding and root-cause investigation

  • Handle connectors, coaxial assemblies and harnesses to the required torque, mating and cleanliness standards

  • Maintain full traceability by completing work orders, updating tickets, applying verification labelling and capturing photographic evidence

  • Deliver verified subsystems to the integration line to support the satellite production plan

  • Work consistently to cleanroom, ESD and FOD control standards

  • Contribute to procedure improvements and continuous improvement initiatives

What You Will Bring

Required

  • Bachelors & Masters in electronics, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or an equivalent technical field

  • 2+ years of experience in electronic or electro-mechanical assembly, integration, or hardware test

  • Confident use of basic test equipment such as multimeters and bench power supplies

  • Ability to read, interpret and follow controlled documentation, including schematics and wiring diagrams

  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail when handling precision, static-sensitive hardware

  • Understanding of ESD-safe working practices

  • Willingness to travel across Europe.

  • Willingness to work across both avionics and RF hardware, and to keep learning new unit types as our satellites evolve. We do not expect you to arrive with both, but we do expect appetite for the breadth

  • Proficient English, written and spoken

Nice to have

  • Experience with RF hardware: coaxial connectors, cable assemblies, transmitters and receivers, or RF test equipment

  • Experience working in a cleanroom or other controlled production environment

  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620 or ECSS workmanship standards

  • FMEA, 6S & Quality standards

  • Comfort with scripted or automated test tooling and a Linux command line

  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and an ERP/MRP system such as NetSuite

  • Background in aerospace, space, defence, medical devices or other high-reliability manufacturing

What Is In It for You

  • A job that matters, in a dynamic Earth Observation environment with a scale-up approach

  • An independent role in a supportive and diverse work environment

  • Occupational healthcare and accident insurance

  • A yearly benefit budget to spend as you wish (sport, transport, bike benefit, wellness, lunch and more)

  • Phone subscription with the iPhone of your choice

  • Time for self-development, research, training, conferences and certification schemes

  • Inspiring collaborative offices and quiet workspaces

  • A wide variety of the best coffee, tea, snacks and sweets to accompany your daily space mission
