Your role and your team:

We are looking for an outstanding stress engineer with proven industry experience in stress, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis of aircraft structures to join our innovative team and thus shape the future of urban e-mobility.

In this position, you will have the exciting opportunity to work within the rapidly growing Stress Team as part of the Calculation Department. You will report to the Team Lead - Stress and be part of the multi-disciplinary Propulsion Integrated Project Team.

Your Day to Day:

  • Sizing and stress analysis of the CFRP flap structure and interfaces to the engines and the wings by means of hand calculations, numerical simulations (FEM) and optimization techniques.
  • Hold responsibility for numerical modelling, simulations, post-processing and reporting of the simulation results.
  • Close collaboration with engineers from interfacing discipline, e.g., mechanical design, materials & processes, manufacturing and testing.
  • Act as supplier focal point for outsourced stress analysis work packages (preparation of input data, definition of analysis details, review of results, etc.) and ensure that high-quality engineering data are delivered on time.
  • Author and review of high-quality technical documentation.
  • Actively support improving team efficiency by shaping processes and building methods and guidelines of the department.

Your Profile:

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of professional experience in stress analysis and structural optimization of primary and secondary aircraft structures
  • Proven track record in successfully managing engineering suppliers as a focal point for stress analysis and on-time delivery of high quality engineering work
  • Excellent knowledge of stress and fatigue analysis methods following established standards for CFRP and metallic structures
  • In-depth understanding of the loading scenarios and mechanical behavior of aircraft structures
  • Extensive working experience with the FEM solver OptiStruct and pre- and post-processing tools HyperMesh and HyperView
  • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
  • Strong project management and technical leadership skills
  • High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomously
  • Fluent English language skills are essential
