Your Role:

We are looking for an outstanding stress engineer with a strong background in engine analysis to join our innovative team and help us shape the future of urban e-mobility. In this position, you will have the exciting opportunity to work within the rapidly growing Stress Team as part of the Design & Aerostructures Department. You will report to the Engineering Manager for Stress & Fatigue and be part of the multi-disciplinary Propulsion Integrated Project Team. Lilium welcomes people from all over the world. Your Day to Day:

 Hold responsibility for FE modelling (or hand calculations) for structural analysis of the engine components

  • Conduction of simulations, post-processing and reporting of the results for the following topics of engine stationary and rotating components:
  • Linear and non-linear static analysis
  • Fatigue analysis (LCF, HCF)
  • Fracture mechanics analysis
  • Design optimization analysis
  • Vibration analysis such as Modal, Harmonic or forced response, Random vibration, Rotor dynamics)
  • Model correlation with static and dynamic test data for certification purposes
  • Work closely with the leading propulsion systems engineer to develop product designs with exceptional performance
  • Actively support shaping processes (i.e., method development) of the department
  • Experience on experimental methods for certification and verification is a plus

Your profile:

  • Engineering degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field is required
  • 5+ years of professional experience in static & dynamic structural analysis, with application to aircraft engines/components
  • Excellent knowledge of stress and dynamic analysis methods, including frequency response, rotor dynamics and multibody dynamics analysis
  • Extensive working experience with the commercial implicit FE code OptiStruct, the MBD solver MotionSolve and the corresponding pre- and post-processing tools HyperMesh, HyperView and MotionView
  • Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills
  • High level of self-reliance and an autonomous target-oriented work style
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial
