Your role and your team:

We are looking for an outstanding calculation engineer with a strong background in stress & damage tolerance analysis to join our innovative team and help us shape the future of urban e-mobility.

In this position, you will have the exciting opportunity to work within the rapidly growing Stress Team as part of the Calculation Department. You will report to the Team Lead Stress and be part of the multi-disciplinary Development Plateau for “Aircraft Structures”.

Your Day to Day:

  • Sizing and stress analysis of the Fuselage Structure and interfaces to i.e. the landing gears or the wings by means of hand calculations, numerical simulations (FEM) and optimization techniques
  • Hold responsibility for numerical modelling, conduction of simulations, post-processing and reporting of the results
  • Work closely with Engineers from Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Testing throughout the entire product development process to develop a Fuselage Structure with exceptional performance

Your profile:

  • Sc./M.Eng. or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field is required
  • 5+ years of experience in Structural analysis, with application to aircraft structures, in particular to Fuselage Primary Structure
  • Excellent knowledge of stress & damage tolerance analysis methods following established standards for CFRP and metallic structures
  • Confidence in the application of optimization techniques
  • In-depth understanding of the loading scenarios and mechanical behaviour of aircraft structures
  • Extensive working experience with the commercial implicit FE code OptiStruct, and corresponding pre- and post-processing tools (HyperMesh and HyperView) is a must
  • Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills required
  • High level of self-reliance and an autonomous target-oriented work style is a must
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial
