Strategic Project Specialist - Temporary

ICON is looking for a hard-working, creative, and team-oriented intern to serve as a Strategic Project Specialist on the Business Development (BD) team. You’re passionate about building and executing go-to-market strategies and have a deep interest in at least a couple of the following subjects: robotics, technology, space, defense, and housing. You’re a stellar researcher, are adept at creating strategy decks, and are eager to learn about creating a public sector and residential BD pipeline. This role will report to the VP, Global Public Sector out of our Austin, TX campus. The length of the position will be 3-6 months. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze market sizes and ICON’s competitive advantages in various markets.
• Build and execute on the go-to-market strategies and manage pipelines using tools such as Bloomberg Government and public procurement sites such as sam.gov. 
• Prepare technical marketing materials for potential customers and partners.
• Conduct stakeholder mapping on large organizations.
• Conduct user interviews and track and analyze the data.
• Analyze how public sector housing policy and residential construction regulations affect ICON’s BD efforts.
• Research new applications for ICON’s proprietary cement mixes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of relevant work experience (including fast growing startups, investment banking, or management consulting).
• Ability to create strategy decks (PPT, Google Slides, or Keynote).
• Ability to take initiative and respond to direction from managers and feedback from peers.
• Ability to create written content and to convey complex ideas in a simple and relatable manner.
• Great interpersonal communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills, and the abilities to work under pressure, meet deadlines and budget time.
