About the role

This role is within the Utility Solutions organization whose mission is to delight utility clients by delivering exceptional results for their EV programs and supporting growth of our utility business. In this role, you will primarily be focused on supporting the Utility Business Development organization to craft solutions to meet each customer’s goals through a consultative sales process and support customer growth. This role may also include supporting a wide variety of strategic business, product, and operational initiatives. 

Responsibilities

  • Primary: Support business development activities including
    • Create client-specific content and sales collateral in support of sales meetings or conference presentations
    • Write Request for Proposal Responses
    • Inform, Create, and Socialize go-to-market materials including sales playbook, demo script, case studies, example RFPs, etc. 
    • Write Scope of Work documents and coordinate internal team reviews to support detailed contracting 
    • Support various sales objectives as defined by company OKRs
    • Collect current and future technical requirements from clients and coordinate with product, engineering, and program operations teams to assess value, feasibility, and schedule 
  • Secondary: Serve in a client success capacity with existing clients
    • Build and maintain great relationships across utility organizations
    • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the utility industry, pressures on the client, and the needs of utility customers
    • Support growth of existing clients through needs identification, data compilation, business case development or other content creation
    • Lead utility workshops and meetings
    • Support program growth objectives
  • Tertiary: Support sales operations
    • Implement efficiency improvements to internal processes and approaches
    • Maintain cross-team processes, support internal reporting, and follow-up as needed.
    • Special projects and other duties as designated by your manager or assigned designee.

About you

You are an experienced energy and consulting professional who can rapidly create customer-ready outputs via documents, slides, or verbal outputs.   Your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills enable seamless interactions with diverse individuals, ranging from technical to non-technical and executive audiences. Adaptability is your forte, allowing you to thrive in fluid and fast-paced environments, be it within startups, industry consulting, or elsewhere, where you effortlessly tackle urgent tasks as they arise. Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge, you are motivated to become the expert in products, clients, and industry trends. Your meticulous attention to detail ensures that you adeptly translate client needs into precise engineering requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with utilities and the energy industry
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to translate needs for diverse set of stakeholders
  • Proficiency in modern software tools (Gsuite, MS Office, Atlassian, Figma, CRMs, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree preferred with a focus in energy, engineering, or business
  • Domain expertise in one or several of the following areas: 
    • Electric mobility 
    • Power systems 
    • Demand Response
    • Utility customer programs
  • Experience in market analysis, writing proposals and grants, the utility regulatory process and/or contract and policy law.


The total compensation for this opportunity includes a base salary range of $93,000 - $160,000 plus equity (stock options) and benefits. This is our target compensation range and is subject to multiple factors including role, level, experience, and location.
As you go through our interview process, our recruiter will work with you to identify a competitive base salary within the proposed range and combine it with an equity package to get you excited about your future at WeaveGrid.
