About the company:
Crusoe's mission is to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. We’re crafting the engine that powers a world where people can create ambitiously with AI — without sacrificing scale, speed, or sustainability.
Be a part of the AI revolution with sustainable technology at Crusoe. Here, you'll drive meaningful innovation, make a tangible impact, and join a team that’s setting the pace for responsible, transformative cloud infrastructure.
About the Role:
As a Staff Technical Writer, you will establish and own Crusoe’s customer-facing product documentation for an AI developer and AI infrastructure engineer audience. You will report directly into Product Management, treating documentation as an integral part of the product itself.
This is the first dedicated technical writer on the team, responsible for building a scalable documentation practice from the ground up. You will not just document "the what," but will help influence product strategy by articulating "the why and the how." We are looking for someone who sees a disruption in the field—someone eager to reinvent technical writing using AI to improve their craft and speed.
What You'll Be Working On:
AI-Native Documentation Strategy
Utilize native AI tools to improve writing efficiency and create templates that enable others to contribute.
Demonstrate curiosity and competitive insight by analyzing how other Neoclouds (e.g., CoreWeave, Nebius) handle documentation to ensure we build a superior experience.
External Product Documentation
Author and maintain customer-facing product documentation, including setup guides, tutorials, and knowledge-base articles.
Focus on helping customers who have already purchased Crusoe products successfully onboard and configure their workloads.
Cross-Surface Documentation
Ensure documentation is consistent and connected across UI workflows, CLI usage, and APIs.
Create cohesive guidance that reflects the full developer journey.
AI Technical User-Focused Content
Produce clear, high-quality documentation tailored to developers and infrastructure engineers working with cloud infrastructure and AI/ML workloads.
Translate complex topics such as GPU clusters, storage, networking, and AI inference into approachable and practical guidance.
Documentation Foundations & Leadership
Establish Leadership: This is a non-transactional role. You will need a "strong spine" to put plans together, drive internal mindshare, and lead the function rather than waiting to be told what to document.
Establish templates, standards, and best practices for documentation as the first technical writer in the organization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Product Managers and Engineering to turn complex designs into clear documentation.
What You'll Bring to the Team:
Experience
5+ years of technical writing experience in a technology company.
Mandatory: Experience using cloud services to execute AI workloads or experience with AI managed services. We need someone who has "done it" and understands the user journey immediately.
Technical Writing Strength & Innovation
A passion for the craft and a desire to reinvent technical writing through the use of AI tools.
Proven ability to simplify complex technical topics and systems.
Ownership & Influence
High self-drive and the ability to operate independently in a startup environment where you will be the sole writer.
Ability to think like a Product Manager, understanding that documentation is a core part of the product experience.
Technical Familiarity
Familiarity with "Neocloud" architectures or high-performance computing environments.
Comfort learning and documenting cloud infrastructure concepts such as storage, networking, and AI/ML workloads.
Bonus Points
Experience specifically with Neoclouds (e.g., CoreWeave, Nebius).
Background in software development or engineering prior to technical writing.
Experience at organizations known for strong developer documentation (e.g., Stripe, Vercel, Supabase).
Location: Sunnyvale or San Francisco preferred for easier collaboration with Product and CS teams, but open to other office locations (Seattle, Denver) for exceptional talent.
Benefits:
Industry competitive pay
Restricted Stock Units in a fast growing, well-funded technology company
Health insurance package options that include HDHP and PPO, vision, and dental for you and your dependents
Employer contributions to HSA accounts
Paid Parental Leave
Paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability

Generous paid time off and holiday schedule

Compensation Range
Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $130,000 - $157,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
