Reports To

Site Reliability Engineering Manager

What You Will Be Doing

  • Contribute to the team charter to build and operate a highly scalable and resilient Infrastructure (Network/Compute/Storage/DB).
  • Introduce and build tools to facilitate greater automation and operability of services.
  • Develop SOPs/Runbooks for maintenance and upgrades.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and ensure uptime of services.
  • Utilize your deep experience and problem-solving skills to help prevent and investigate production issues.
  • Plan and lead complicated cross functional technical projects within the company.
  • Contribute as a lead by leading sprint planning, delegating work and assignments to team members and participate in project planning.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a cloud or platform or dev-ops team in a SaaS environment and supporting mission critical services.
  • Experience in cloud computing AWS(preferred), Azure or GCP.
  • Experience in building a computer platform on Kubernetes.
  • Experience with distributed database systems.
  • Experience with Cloud computing toolsets - Terraform, Vault, Packer.
  • Experience with configuration management tools - Ansible and Chef.
  • Experience with TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting.
  • Strong sysadmin background demonstrated knowledge of OS lifecycle management managing complex OS upgrades.
  • Experience with observability tools Prometheus/Grafana/ELK/OpsGenie to track metrics, logs and traces.
  • Experience and knowledge in building secure CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, ArgoCD, SAST tools.
  • Strong Python scripting
  • Good knowledge of distributed systems and APIs.
  • Able to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.
  • On call rotation.
  • Degree or equivalent experience.

Execution

  • Able to build a tech roadmap based on product requirements
  • Able to influence team and the developers to build systems that are production ready
  • Proposes and drives architectural changes to solve scale and performance issues
  • Can lead large cross functional projects and define KPIs to measure success

Collaboration and Communication

  • Drives Root Cause Analysis (RCA) along with the engineering community.
  • Works with platform/engineering teams influencing designs that will improve the overall efficiency and productivity.
  • Contributes to runbooks and general documentation
  • Improves team practices in handoff of work and incidents

Influence and Maturity

  • Involved in hiring process - involved in interviews and qualifying candidates
  • Mentors and Coaches team members
  • Able to de-escalate conflicts inside and outside the team
  • Writes in-depth documentation that shares knowledge
  • Helps develop team members to raise the overall bar

The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $85,000 to $187,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
