THIS IS WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead mechanical design activities associated with developing a unique propulsion system for light vehicle applications
  • Leverage previous complex hardware design experience to conduct concept, architecture and detailed design phase activities needed to invent and commercialize intricate electromechanical products
  • Model impeccable application of engineering fundamentals and first principles thinking to the design process
  • Perform design level calculations, simulations and analysis via spreadsheet, Matlab, FEA, etc. tools
  • Lead design tradeoff processes and design reviews via CAD modeling, geometric visualization/presentation, analysis, critical thinking and communication skills
  • Generate, manage, own master CAD databases and design release, PLM workflows
  • Build and maintain KPI / attribute scorecards throughout the design, test, development process
  • Collaborate closely with other design engineers as well as EE hardware, modeling, NVH, controls, test, opps, etc

 

THIS IS WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 15+ year track record of detailed mechanical design and manufacturing execution of complex, precision, rotating machine, sensors, PCBA and other products
  • Strong engineering fundamentals in the areas of mechanics, dynamics, kinematics, mechanisms, FEA, thermal, drawing/GD&T, manufacturing process
  • A high degree of spatial creativity and reasoning ability combined with impeccable CAD skills
  • Knowledge and skills particular to development of hardware with micron level precision considerations, tolerance analysis, metrology, inspection and control plans
  • Knowledge and application experience with clean sheet or deep integration of electromechanical hardware content including motors, sensors, PCBA assemblies, connectors, flex circuits, wire harness
  • Working level knowledge and some hands on experience in modeling key physics that influence design such as: thermal, structural, structural dynamics, vibration, noise transmission
  • Professional accomplishments executing designs from clean sheet through protype, then pilot builds and finally mass production
  • Formal mechanical engineering education, M.S. minimum, higher preferred
