 The Senior Analyst of Trade Compliance is an experienced import / export professional who will be responsible for multiple aspects of trade compliance at Lucid Motors. This opportunity requires a good working knowledge and experience in the area of (U.S.) Trade Compliance. We are looking for an individual who possesses ambition, integrity, personal accountability, a high level of energy, enthusiasm and positive attitude, with a passion for import/export compliance and customer service. The successful candidate will have spent time launching new plants and/or new products in an automotive manufacturing environment, prior experience with EV vehicles preferred.  The ideal candidate will exhibit a can-do attitude and approaches this opportunity with determination.

You Will:

  • Support the Trade Compliance team with the review, approval and maintenance of daily trade compliance activities and operations.
  • Establish and maintain a good working rapport with various internal and external partners. Have daily interaction with internal systems and cross functional partners (e.g. Purchasing, Transportation/Shipping, Material Planning, Tax, Finance, Legal, Retail, Marketing, Engineering, etc.) and Lucid Suppliers to obtain the necessary trade information.
  • Support the Trade Compliance team with developing, implementing, monitoring, and managing the necessary policies, internal controls, procedures, training, audit programs to meet its obligations adhering to import & export regulations.
  • Subject matter expertise in classification, valuation, country of origin, special trade programs and export controls
  • Consistently demonstrates sound judgment and take actions even in ambiguous situations
  • Help to drive implementation of technology solutions to scale our operations
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and automate operations, improve timely delivery and reduce cost
  • You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Trade, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • 2 years of relevant experience within an in-house trade compliance department, accounting/indirect tax, international trade consulting, trade law, or related discipline.
  • Experience with import and export regulations, HTS classification and customs valuation
  • Someone with previous logistics operational experience is a plus.
  • Experience with FTZ – Foreign Trade Zones is a plus
  • Analytical skill set
  • Interface with stakeholders regarding challenges and disruptions due to trade issues, root cause and help with mitigation strategies
  • Broker management
  • U.S. Customs interface
  • Strong computer proficiency in MS Office applications and SAP experience re: SAP-GTS &/or QuestaWeb/Descartes is a plus
  • Working knowledge of CBP’s Informed Compliance Publication on ‘Vehicles, Parts, and Accessories’
  • Working knowledge and experience of U.S. Section 301 and 232 Tariffs, U.S. Antidumping and Countervailing duty orders
  • HTS Classification and Schedule B - including understanding of GRI’s
  • U.S. HTS Chapter 98 provisions
  • U.S. Customs Broker License is a plus

  • Travel requirements 15 %
  • Role will be located in Newark, CA and will report to the Sr. Mgr. of Trade Compliance.
