Sr. Quality Engineer, Inverter

Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.&nbsp;</p></div><p>Role Summary</p> <p>Rivian is looking for results-oriented collaborative Quality Engineers responsible for DriveUnit/Gearbox product quality. This position will be responsible for reviewing DFMEA/PFMEA/DVP&amp;R/GD&amp;T and Design improvements for DU. The position will also oversee prototype/validation build quality, benchmark/baseline process capabilities, and product tolerances. Furthermore, this role will support launch activities and any continuous improvement projects post-launch for lessons learned. Success in this role will be leading teams to find opportunities to improve, both effectively and efficiently.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Oversee design quality of Powertrain Inverter and related Powertrain Electrification products</li> <li>Establish strategic objectives with engineering to deliver products with exceptional quality</li> <li>Determine, track, and deliver key KPIs to achieve quality targets and goals</li> <li>Work with engineering, manufacturing, and the supply base to ensure requirements flow through</li> <li>Collaborate with production integrators to develop quality planning and ensure prototype quality</li> <li>Support prototype build quality process and data collection</li> <li>Participate in product launch initiatives to meet timing and quality milestones</li> <li>Ensure product and process designs deliver high levels of capability using DFMEA, PFMEA, and other tools</li> <li>Drive Prediction, Prevention, and Protection of quality issues and risk mitigation solutions</li> <li>Collaborate with other members of the engineering staff to support both project and internal R&amp;D efforts</li> </ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering</li> <li>Minimum of 5 years engineering and/or quality experience including: <ul> <li>Design and manufacturing of powertrain inverter, power electronics, and related electrical test processes</li> <li>In-depth knowledge of High Voltage Inverter module assembly process including Gate drives, power modules, capacitor modules, etc.</li> <li>Knowledge of printed circuit board fabrication and circuit card assembly processes per industry specifications</li> <li>Knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design, simulation, and analysis tools</li> </ul> </li> <li>Familiarity with High voltage testing instrumentation and parameters.</li> <li>Basic CAD knowledge, including the ability to review designs within CATIA</li> <li>Strong statistical and problem-solving capability, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Preferred</li> <li>2-5 years’ experience with New Product and Process Development</li> <li>Knowledge of AIAG, APQP, and related tools</li> <li>Familiarity with CMM, laser scan, CT scan, and other gaging devices</li> <li>Demonstrated quality improvements through the use of structured problem solving</li> <li>Experience working in a cross functional environment</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><h4>Equal Opportunity</h4> <p>Rivian is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
