Our rapidly growing New Markets team is looking for a Program Manager that will play a needed role in our New Markets function, working across the business to manage the successful implementation of cross-functional projects in support of Inspire’s expansion into new markets. You will partner closely with the Director of Project Management, project managers, business analysts, cross-functional teams, and program and project stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistent delivery against project commitments. This role provides the opportunity to travel up to 50% to support success in the role (eg, in-person stakeholder meetings, project team collaboration, etc.)

How you’ll help: 

  1. Accountable for the successful launch of new energy services and markets, including clean natural gas, additional retail energy market(s) and future business opportunities and/or integrations. 
  2. Ensure programs and projects are aligned to overarching organizational goals and strategy
  3. Drive operating rhythm for program and project teams across the business and for outside service providers, setting the vision for each initiative along with clear expectations, roles and goals for execution, removing roadblocks, and taking ownership of outcomes. 
  4. Deliver programs and projects on time, within budget and scope, and consistent with quality standards. 
  5. Communicate to senior leadership on a regular basis, providing insights, updates and action items relevant to their functions.
Some 1 year deliverables:
  • Initiate, plan, execute, control, monitor, and close projects for new clean energy services business lines
  • Assist in the development/evolution of a repeatable operating framework for project management based on lessons-learned and feedback from project team experience
  • Partner with business analysts to validate that planned project work will achieve desired business outcomes in a cost-effective way
  • Support ad hoc opportunities that may arise

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

  • Must Have
    • 5-8 years proven experience in full-cycle waterfall program and project management in a Project Management Office context
    • Experience running multiple, concurrent programs and/or projects with dedicated resources, non-dedicated resources (self-organizing teams), and/or a hybrid of both
    • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including excellent listening to achieve understanding and negotiation to achieve alignment
    • Intermediate to advanced project management tools skills, for example, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, AirTable, etc.
    • Intermediate to advanced productivity tools skills, for example Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Nice to Have 
    • Prior demonstrable experience with programs and projects related to new market expansion and/or process and system implementation and/or enhancement
    • Prior demonstrable experience effectively working with third party partners and vendors
    • Prior experience in the energy industry
    • Prior experience in renewable energy
    • Experience with agile teams
