Sr. Product Owner, Engineering Applications – PLATO e1ns

As a part of the Engineering Product Owner team, you will be responsible for connecting user requirements to software enhancements that impact the coolest adventure EV products. This role presents an opportunity to work with Attributes, Reliability and Manufacturing engineering organizations, to learn the intricacies of how we manage our physical products and associated processes. It also involves connecting the dots at a higher strategic level and then working with external vendors to deliver internal software functionality given tight timelines. Part of this role will also focus on managing orders, invoices as well.

You will also be responsible to manage an overarching roadmap for the product to ensure increased user adoption and improved reliability of end-products for Rivian. Being well versed with PLATO e1ns software is massive plus.

This is what you’ll do

  • Gather business requirements from other functions like Reliability and Systems Engineering teams for the product
    • Break the requirements in chunks and use cases, prioritize with the stakeholders, and drive urgency to get the top items implemented
    • Maintain the product level scope, schedule and resources
  • Work towards understanding FMEA, FMEDA requirements as well integration opportunities with other Rivian systems to implement on the product
  • Develop maintenance level roles and responsibilities with the vendor while being able to problem-solve across various technology systems
  • Manage and align the product roadmap with the business priorities as they shift or change
  • Develop a JIRA process for trackability and driving accountability with the team members including external vendors
    • Verify functional deliverables and bug fixes in accordance with requirements and communicate improvements to broader organization
    • Track productivity and quality (accuracy to Rivian requirements) metrics to continuously improve the deployment process
  • Communicate via both written documents and verbal presentations in an organized and clear way, including to higher leadership as needed
  • Manage vendor relationship and some invoicing/ordering mechanisms
  • Help to develop new customer APIs for functional enhancement and increased integration with other current Rivian systems
  • Design and maintain technical and project documentation in Confluence or other tools

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering
  • Ability to translate technical challenges into business related impact
  • Great at managing scope, schedule, and resources for products
  • Familiarity with Reliability and Quality tools, specifically FMEA and FMEDA for design/manufacturing or others
  • Good understanding and application of Agile project management tools and methodologies. Familiarity with IT concepts, methodology and vocabulary is an asset
    • Experience with Jira and Atlassian Products
  • Some experience with Jira and Confluence products

Good to have

  • Being well versed with PLATO e1ns software is a massive plus
  • Familiarity with Attribute/Systems Engineering and Functional Safety
  • Bilingual – Ability to communicate in writing and spoken in both German and English
  • Prior experience creating FMEA on hardware and software related products
  • Masters degree in engineering
  • Some knowledge of AWS cloud hosting
  • Basic understanding of REST APIs, Python
