The Role
Work with cross-function team to identify power electronics plant model requirements for MIL/SIL/PIL/HIL/System Integration testingOwn the development of lumped or detailed switching behavior for HV components such as motors, inverter, charger, AC/DC or DC/DC convertersOwn the development of lumped or detail thermal models for power electronics components to validate software behavior under different usage scenariosWork closely with the testing team to develop and document experiments to acquire data for model creation and validationDevelop and utilize computer simulations (Matlab/Simulink, SiL) to aid in testing of new algorithms, modifications, or corner-case eventsAid in conversion of high-fidelity switching models to FPGA for real-time software testing·Document and track modeling issues as appropriate. Participate in triaging of model issues with various teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolutionImplement modeling best practices to accelerate development and improve fidelity of models, including runtime performance optimization, model verification and validationWork with integration to design and build test benches to test and validate high voltage systemsDeploy PE models on the test benches and verify system behavior Troubleshoot various systems and ECUs using lab and measurement equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters as well as tools such as Vector CANoe, CANalyzer etc.Work with Test managers to configure test setups and test runs according to test planAid and support tests activities at various levels of SW integrationHelp with scalability of model and system for upcoming productsParticipate in the design of a world-class engineering effort to bring electric vehicles to a new level of refinementMinimum Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience using real time HIL systems5+ years’ experience with electrified powertrains5+ years’ experience with Power Electronics topologies2+ years of experience HV components such as 3-phase inverters, AC/DC or DC/DC converters and chargers2+ years’ experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, UDS, and related tools to measure and command signals, though scripting or otherwisePreferred Qualifications:
Ability to follow circuit schematics and PCB layout drawingsGood understanding of MIL/SIL/PIL/HIL simulation methodologiesExperience with revision control tools, such as Git or similarWillingness to learn new tools and modeling methodEducation Requirements:
