Antora Energy is electrifying heavy industry with zero-carbon heat and power. We make it possible and profitable to fully rely on renewable energy for industrial processes.
Antora Energy's thermal energy storage soaks up excess solar and wind electricity and uses it to heat blocks of carbon so they glow like inside a toaster. This thermal energy is then delivered to customers as electricity or industrial process heat up to 1500°C, on demand. In short, Antora Energy turns sunshine and wind into 24/7 heat and power, cheaper than fossil fuels.
Our future hinges on heavy industry. Antora Energy’s technology eliminates the need to burn fossil fuels for industrial heat and power, the biggest source of greenhouse gasses on earth.
We are growing our company with people who put team and mission first, value connection through laughter and joy, and build with humility and openness. Join our team and do the most fulfilling and impactful work of your life on climate change.
Antora builds and deploys thermal batteries to power always-on industrial operations with low-cost energy. Factory-built in the United States, Antora’s modular thermal batteries deliver reliable heat and power, enabling industrial facilities of any size to decarbonize predictably and profitably. Antora is electrifying global industry while supporting U.S. manufacturing jobs, lowering costs for energy consumers, and enhancing the competitiveness of American industry.
We are growing our company with people who put team and mission first, value connection through laughter and joy, and build with humility and openness. We are committed to continue building a diverse, passionate, and creative team dedicated to a future where every industrial facility, everywhere on earth, is powered by abundant, clean, low-cost energy.
Position Summary
As our Sr. Material Flow Engineer, you’ll lead the design of material flow systems that support the movement of material (including large, heavy components) between our adjacent warehouse and production line using tuggers and tugger carts. You’ll establish decanting processes for staging components in totes compatible with gravity flow racks and engineer line-side presentation fixtures that support repeatable and ergonomic assembly of large-scale products. This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role that’s ideal for someone with experience in large-format manufacturing environments.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and implement the material flow system between the warehouse (next door) and the production line using tugger vehicles and carts.
- Develop a decanting operation for transferring parts from bulk packaging into totes that integrate with gravity flow racks.
- Design line-side presentation fixtures to ensure ergonomic, efficient, and standardized part access for operators.
- Create material delivery schedules and replenishment strategies optimized for repeatable builds and fixed takt times.
- Map out physical flows, tugger routes, staging areas, and line-side inventory zones.
- Specify and oversee the procurement of material handling equipment, racks, carts, bins, and fixtures.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure material presentation supports efficient, high-yield assembly.
- Develop clear documentation including process flow diagrams, layout drawings, SOPs, and visual standards.
- Monitor and continuously improve material movement efficiency using data-driven methods.
- Train team members on material handling processes, safety practices, and standard work procedures.
Key Qualifications
-
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 4-8 years of experience in material flow, manufacturing engineering, or logistics in a low-mix or repetitive production environment.
- Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles, standard work, and just-in-time delivery.
- Experience designing decanting stations and line-side presentation solutions.
- Proficiency in layout design tools (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with tugger systems, kanban, and flow rack configurations.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Clear communication and documentation abilities.
Additional Qualifications Desired
- Experience in assembly line setup or re-layouts in low-mix production environments.
- Experience working with large, heavy, or oversized products or components is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP or WMS systems.
- Ability to model or simulate material flow using basic tools or software.
