As the Senior Manager of the High Voltage Battery Testing team at Lucid Motors you will lead the efforts for internal and external testing to be performed on all structures, systems, components, and subcomponents as part of the product development process. The High Voltage Battery team is responsible for the design, validation and integration of the HV battery and other high voltage systems components. As part of your role as a Senior Testing Manager, you will coordinate and lead the team to ensure these systems meet the Lucid Motors’ safety and durability standards when subject to electrical, mechanical, thermal, and other environmental stresses.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the creation and completion of DVP&Rs as part of the product development cycle while meeting product release timelines.

  • Work cross-functionally with other teams to capture all testing needs.

  • Effectively assign projects and responsibilities to team members to ensure timely execution.

  • Provide direction and technical guidance to the testing team (up to 20 people) while instituting effective testing strategies to ensure timely delivery of results.

  • Grow the testing team to meet company goals and objectives.

  • Develop strategic and effective testing timelines for new product launches.

  • Drive further development of the testing facility by taking the lead in the specification, and justification of new testing equipment where needed.

  • Provide input on strategic initiatives related to growth in regions outside of the US.

  • Oversee battery safety initiatives to drive safety into the product.
  • Qualifications:


  • BS/MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

  • 10+ years of automotive or similar testing experience. High Voltage systems (HV and LV automotive components) is preferred.

  • The candidate must demonstrate extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical theory.

  • A proven history of leadership experience in a startup environment is advantageous.

  • Ability to mitigate unforeseen problems creatively and effectively.

  • Experience with EE and environmental lab equipment is a plus.

  • Direct experience with building battery testing facilities.
