The Lucid Infrastructure team is currently seeking a Sr. IT Infrastructure Cloud Engineer  for our Newark location. This position requires an experienced technical expert on cloud infrastructure projects in relation to compute, storage, systems management and cloud services, to name a few. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
·       California (Bay Area) - $115,000 - $165,000

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.  (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)

Responsibilities:

  • Operate as a technical expert on infrastructure projects pertaining to AWS Cloud Services, Monitoring, File Serving, Capacity Planning, and DR.
  • Perform IT implementations, performance analysis and optimization, monitoring, problem resolution, upgrade planning and execution, and process creation and documentation.
  • Continually analyze and work to improve quality of services offered by IT.
  • Participate in ongoing technology evaluations and keep up with technology trends and industry standards.
  • Suggest improvements based on technology, best practices, or changing requirements.
  • Provide regular management updates on advantages and potential opportunities for new technologies and automation.
  • Train/Mentor junior staff members as appropriate.
  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Information Technology/Computer Science or combination of education and equivalent work experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in the following areas:
  • Working with public cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Mission-critical services and applications in an enterprise environment.
  • CI/CD integrations, event driven automation.
  • Services – GitLab, GitLab CI, Jenkins or other CI systems.
  • Infrastructure and Deployments
  • Platforms – Kubernetes, EKS, Cluster API, Kops
  • Disaster Recovery, Backup & Restore and Object Storage
  • Experience with Amazon S3, Glacier and Storage Gateway
  • Alerting & Notifications, Metrics Collection, Identification of scaling issues
  • Experience with AWS CloudWatch Logs, Prometheus, Grafana and PagerDuty.
  • Security, Authentication, Authorization, Zero Trust Architectures, BeyondCorp model, NIST SP 800-210
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Operating Systems – Linux (Ubuntu, Red Hat, Amazon Linux), Windows
  • Okta, OIDC, Dex, Keycloak and/or SPIFFE experience preferred
  • Languages – Bash, Emacs Lisp, Python, Golang, JSON, YAML
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well and collaborate with other teams of various skills
  • Analytical skills coupled with technical creativity and vision
  • Customer service oriented with strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Time management and prioritizing skills
  • Self-motivator able to take tasks or projects and run with them
