Lucid motors is hiring a Sr Industrial Engineer, Warehouse SPD Kitting who will design material flow processes and storage systems to establish efficient material delivery from the warehouse to factory and sub-assembly lines for electric vehicle components. Coordinate onsite warehouse launch activities. Develop station layouts for lineside operations, offline SPD cells, kitting, and repack activities.

You Will:

  • Apply lean methodology to classify materials and determine the correct material flows.
  • General Optimization of floor space, logistics, delivery, and display equipment in the assembly plant.
  • Interface with Manufacturing Engineering, Packaging, Logistics Operations, EH&S during launch to develop Material Flow processes and systems.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects.
  • Conceptualize, design, test, and deploy manual, semi-manual and automated material handling equipment (MHE) in the factory and warehouses.
  • Eliminate waste of time, money, materials, person-hours, machine time, energy and other resources that do not generate value.
  • Complete dock utilization analysis, support dynamic simulations, maintain PFEP data, calculate storage space requirements and design material delivery routes.
  • Input and report out KPI data on a weekly basis.
  • Create test documentation, work instructions, maintenance instructions, presentations, etc.
  • Contribute to internal document development, standards, best practices, lessons learned and training modules.
  • Develop requirements for Material Flow equipment: fork trucks, tuggers, dollies, and lineside display. 
  • Experience with installation of material handling equipment such as Rack indexers, turn tables, over/under systems, shuttles, and conveyors.
  • Comprehensive understanding of material calling systems, MES, Kanban, and PLC processes, etc. 
  • You Bring:

  • Analytics and Problem solving.
  • Ability to proactively identify issues and solve problems.
  • Capability to perform well and grow under limited supervision.
  • Advanced supply chain management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated design and/or implementation with automation solutions, such as complex material handling systems, automotive manufacturing lines.
  • General knowledge of Lean Manufacturing systems such as TPS and WCM.
  • Experience using project management tools, tracking program milestones, and developing glidepaths.
  • In depth knowledge of engineering mechanics fundamentals, engineering materials and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in material flow, factory layout design, simulation tools is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk, AutoCAD Plant layout, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access), Smartsheets.
  • 5+ years of experience in sequencing, kitting and repack warehouse planning.
  • A proven track record of implementing optimized simulation models.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field required.
  • Master’s Degree in one of these fields is preferred. 
  • Six Sigma certification is preferred.
