Sr. Firmware Integration Engineer, Self-Driving

Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.&nbsp;</p></div><p data-renderer-start-pos="36"><strong data-renderer-mark="true">Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul class="ak-ul" data-indent-level="1"> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="57">Develop and execute firmware integration plans related to ADAS &amp; Self-Driving related sub-system integration in collaboration with multiple embedded SW team(s)</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="220">Provide SW impact assessments and drive necessary test coverage and regression test plan definition based on proposed firmware changes.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="360">Support preliminary functional verification of ADAS specific firmware changes on various test vehicle platforms in coordination with vehicle platform integration teams.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="533">Analyze and review verification test data to ensure proper system operation by utilizing real-time and post-processing data analysis tools.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="677">Develop and maintain necessary test documentation including test requirements, procedures, plans, and reports.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="792">Deep-dive into vehicle log data and source code if required to root-cause system-level issues and facilitate rapid issue resolution in collaboration with domain experts.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="965">Identify, document and highlight cross-functional gaps and dependencies - proactively work towards creative solutions to resolve integration issues and ensure vehicle functionality.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1150">Support systems engineering activities including interface definition, development and functional testing in coordination with various vehicle-level systems.</p> </li> </ul> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1311"><strong data-renderer-mark="true">Qualifications</strong></p> <ul class="ak-ul" data-indent-level="1"> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1329">B.S+ in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1472">Strong Python familiarity, working knowledge of C/C++</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1529">Solid understanding and experience with POSIX-based embedded systems; one or more of Linux, Android, QNX.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1638">Strong understanding of automotive software development concepts including continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD) software development models.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1799">Strong understanding of dependencies between embedded hardware and software systems - hands-on experience debugging complex automotive systems that involve multiple ECUs preferred.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1984">Strong working knowledge of automotive electrical systems, diagnostic &amp; communication protocols (CAN, Flexray, Ethernet) and relevant debug tools.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2134">Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment -proactively collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to solve vehicle-level integration problems.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2299">Strong understanding of vehicle safety concepts and testing-related safety procedures.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2389">Experience with sensors and advanced sensor technologies is a plus.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2460">Flexibility to travel domestically/internationally ( up to 25% ) to support various vehicle-level integration and test activities.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2594">Clean driving record - experience driving prototype test-vehicles is a plus.</p> </li> </ul> <p>#LI-GG1</p><div class="content-conclusion"><h4>Equal Opportunity</h4> <p>Rivian is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
