Our process begins with an animal cell, which is cultivated and harvested as meat. Upside Foods is a mission-driven company focused on bringing to meat lovers an authentic product that is truly humane, sustainably produced, nutritious and delicious! We are now expanding our team of dedicated professionals across disciplines to make better meat for a better world.

About this job

In-depth working knowledge of bioreactor vessel hardware, controller automation, data capture, and culture data analysis are critical for success. Strong experience with statistically driven design of experiments and data-driven strategy is a must.

  • Author, review, and revise batch records and sample plans in support of pilot and commercial manufacturing process changes.
  • Support impact assessments, risk assessments, and investigations including root cause analysis utilizing industry best practices in collaboration with manufacturing operations and quality.
  • Support technology transfer activities and execution of productions including person-in-plan support.
  • Support regulatory filings and facility startup as needed.
  • Adhere to and enforce cGMP, including safety, cleanliness, and waste handling; take immediate action to correct any potential safety issues.

About You

  • A total of 8+ years of experience in cell culture bioprocess development and process transfer across size scales in academic and industry settings.
  • Experienced with development of new bioprocess, and process transfer to production.
  • Experienced and familiar with the scale-up and scale-down of bioreactors and bioprocess controller systems.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.

  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ability to relate with people at all levels within an organization, including diverse cultures.
  • Comfortable working in, and leading in a team based environment.
