Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
· California (Bay Area) - $115,000 - $165,000
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. The Role:
Develop test methods and plans to characterize real-world cell performance and extract key BMS parameters Work with external suppliers to qualify LFP/LMFP cell candidates and ensure products meet expected performance targets Work with multiple cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of battery cell into the vehicle Propose and lead failure mode analyses on battery cell usage in extreme conditions Monitor and evaluate new battery cell technologies in the market suitable for EV application Qualifications:
A critical and independent mindset Able to discover insights based on experimental data Strong documentation and communication skills Good understanding and intuition of Li-ion battery electrochemistry Experience in LFP or LMFP cell chemistry and design Knowledge of battery operating characteristics at cell and system level Able to design test plans to characterize battery performance and safety Preferred:
Strong data analysis background. Experience with Python, Matlab, JMP, Tableau, Grafana, and/or SQL database systems Knowledge or experience developing data sets for LFP/LMFP physics-based models Working experience in EV battery industries and/or working with Tier 1 cell suppliers Experience with large prismatic commercial cell form factors Experience in prismatic cell manufacture processes Education:
PhD, or Masters with 3+ years of relevant work experience, or Bachelors with 5+ years of relevant work experience
