 What you will do:

As a Sourcing Specialist II, on the procurement team within supply chain operations, you will focus on supporting supplier relationship development, purchasing activities, and pathfinding sourcing efforts with cross-functional engineering and technology groups in Electra.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers for raw materials, components, and services, particularly those related to machining operations, chemical processes, and electrochemistry 
  • Research, evaluate, and assess suppliers’ capability to meet short-term and long-term production, quality, and technical requirements 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cost-saving initiatives, such as make vs. buy analysis, while maintaining quality and supply chain resilience 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster long-term partnerships that support the company’s growth and innovation 
  • Act as the primary point of contact for supplier communication, resolving issues related to delivery, quality, and other supplier-related concerns
  • Work closely with suppliers to support new product development and process improvements 
  • Process requisitions into procurement activities for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing technical products and components 
  • Routinely follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of purchase orders and consistently communicate status of purchase orders to internal stakeholders 
  • Contribute to the development and execution of sourcing strategies that align with the company’s operational goals and objectives, including ensuring supply chain continuity 
  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve sourcing processes, implement best practices, and drive efficiencies in procurement operations 
  • Maintain accurate records of sourcing activities, including supplier evaluations, contract terms, and cost savings 
  • Prepare regular reports on sourcing performance, supplier metrics, and market conditions for management review 
  • Develop and prepare standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to sourcing strategies and processes 
  • Read, understand, and comply with all workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and company policies and procedures 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

What we need you to bring to the team:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or a technical degree such as engineering, science, or supply chain with a related certification  
  • 2+ years of experience in procurement or sourcing in an original equipment manufacturing (OEM) setting (excludes internships, co-ops, and other school projects) 
  • Strong understanding of technical product specifications and manufacturing processes 
  • Working experience sourcing raw materials/direct materials as well as specialized materials 
  • ERP system experience within a Supply Chain environment including purchasing and inventory 
  • Ability to manage and adapt to multiple and/or changing projects simultaneously and ability to thrive in a continuous improvement environment 
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy 
  • Understanding of contracts and contract management 
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as needed 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) 
  • Proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn, Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint 

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, and Skills: 

  • 3+ years of experience in procurement or sourcing in an original equipment manufacturing (OEM) setting (excludes internships, co-ops, and other school projects) 
  • Experience sourcing for electrolyzer, fuel cell, or flow battery specialty technologies 
  • Experience with NetSuite as an ERP solution
  • Experience or the desire to be in a dynamic startup environment
  • Strong analytical, data mining, and report development skills
  • Critical thinking mindset and focus on finding answers 
  • Safety-first mindset; share potential risks with others before they result in hazardous outcomes 
  • Desire to challenge yourself and take on increasing responsibilities as the company grows 

Compensation:  

  • The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
