Electric Hydrogen is looking for a Service Engineer to join our growing team focused on deploying the most powerful electrolyzers in the world. You will be responsible for equipment management, process improvement, operational troubleshooting and analytics, and repair management ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
You will work onsite at our San Jose, CA office and you will report to our Director of Service Engineering & EHS.
Roles and Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair: Help compile and run the preventative maintenance program for the electrolyzer and supporting auxiliary units. Implement and maintain the work orders program. You will be responsible for auditing it for accuracy and quality, confirming that work performed at the plant is connected to downstream workflows failure analysis, and continuous improvement programs
Data Analytics: Monitor and review plant data, analyze system performance metrics, and collaborate with the team to improve plant processes
Troubleshooting: Resolve technical issues with the help of internal subject matter experts to perform high-quality root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and track the completion and success of those corrective actions
Customer Support: Serve as a technical liaison between the customer and Electric Hydrogen, ensuring issues are resolved promptly
Reporting: Pull together information to provide regular reports, tracking important goals across the plant. Create presentations to communicate with coworkers and leadership
Documentation: Create detailed service reports, work orders, maintenance logs, and failure analysis documents
Safety Compliance: Follow all company and industry safety standards especially OSHA, EPA, and NFPA
Qualifications
Bachelor's in related field
5+ years of relevant experience
Experience with electrical systems, control systems, and fluid dynamics
Domestic and international travel for onsite service work (up to 50%)
Able to read technical drawings, P&IDs, and wiring schematics
Experience with computer software systems
Able to partner with teams and manage service engineering programs
Excellent verbal, written, and presentational skills
Sense of personal ownership
Contracts understandng
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with electrolysis, hydrogen systems, or industrial gas
Familiarity with PLC systems and remote monitoring tools
Experience developing service engineering programs such as: work orders, preventative maintenance, and failure analysis
Experience with the implementation, rollout, and use of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS platform)
Experience with root-cause analysis in a technical field

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.
