As a Senior High Voltage Battery Validation Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping our validation process. You’ll lead the way from developing requirements to finalizing reports, ensuring a comprehensive and rigorous approach. By managing both internal and external testing resources, you’ll verify that our products meet durability, reliability, and safety standards. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll dig deep to uncover the root causes of any failures, devise effective mitigation strategies, and apply valuable insights to future designs. Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $155,000 to $215,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.

In this role, you will:
Develop and maintain the Design Validation Plan and Reports (DVP&Rs) for the Zoox High Voltage Battery, encompassing Mechanical, Environmental, Performance, Compliance, and Abuse Testing. Execute validation testing as specified in the DV plan by defining test setup, designing fixtures, and selecting sensors and equipment needed to conduct testing accurately.Collaborate with internal and external teams to manage validation schedules to ensure timely availability of test assets and conduct weekly meetings to update stakeholders on testing progress.Thoroughly analyze test data and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and support conducting preliminary root cause analysis for any test failures.Travel up to 50% to suppliers or test facilities and assist with test plan reviews, observe testing, support DUT teardowns to ensure comprehensive analysis.Qualifications
BS or MS in mechanical engineering or related relevant field and 8+ years of High Voltage Battery test or validation experience.Familiarity with High Voltage Battery test standards such as UN 38.3, UL2580, SAE J2464, SAE J2929, ECE R100, IEC60068-2Experience with requirements management tools (Polarion or equiv.)Experience with a wide variety of lab and measurement equipment including but not limited to: Battery cyclers, Integration SW (eg AVL Lynx), CANlyzer, DAQ, Power supply / E-load, Oscilloscope, Accelerometers, and ThermocouplesBonus Qualifications
Familiarity with 3D design tools, preferably CATIA 3DX, CATIA V5, or SolidWorksEMI/EMC validation experience
